Jamaica Crime News, St James: The Barnett Street Police have still not released the name of the man who was shot and killed by gunmen in broad daylight in Montego Bay, St James.

So far we have learned that, the deceased is a popular Technician who operates from a shop in the vicinity of Clock Towers off Cottage Road.

Reports by the police are that about 1:00 p.m. on Monday,  August 20, the deceased was among a group of persons outside Drivers restaurant located at Clock Towers.

While at the establishment, they were approached by two men armed with handguns.  The men opened fire hitting the technician to his upper body,  before making their escape in the area on foot.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A team from the Barnett Street CIB Department is now processing the scene.
