Jamaica Crime News: Taxi Operator Shot and Injured at Mandeville Tax Office – A 28-year-old taxi operator who reportedly attacked a security guard on the compound of the Mandeville Tax Officer, in the parish of Manchester, on Monday morning, was shot and injured by the security officer and is presently at a hospital under police guard.
The accused who have been identified as Aldoman Murray, taxi operator and mechanic of Mount Prospect district in Manchester, is said to be in serious but stable condition at the hospital.
Mckoy’s News team learned that this is not the first time the security was attacked, the first attack on the security guard, was on the 23 of January the same taxi operator came to the Tax Office to renew his drivers license, and we understood that he was in the process of penetrating the line when he was cautioned by the said security guard.”
It is also understood that on that same day he attacked and threatened the security guard, and the dispute was quelled only when administrators at the Tax Office came out and threatened the taxi operator to call in the police. ”
Reports are that on Monday about 9:30 a.m., the security guard was standing on the Tax Office compound talking to a group of people when he was attacked by Murray who was armed with a knife.
According to the police, Murray stabbed at the security officer who was forced to defend himself by shooting his attacker. The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the wounded taxi operator was transported to the Mandeville hospital where he was admitted under police guard.
