Taxi Operator Executed By Gunman Passenger in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Kingston police have now commenced a probe into the shooting death of a taxi operator, who was shot and killed by a man posing as a passenger, at the intersection of North Street and South Camp Road, in Kingston, on Wednesday night, July 3.

The dead taxi operator has been identified as a 34-year-old Adrian Duncan, of Wellington Street, also in Kingston.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Duncan was transporting passengers in Kingston. On reaching a section of North Street and South Camp Road, he came to a slow pace and a male passenger traveling in the rear of the taxi, brandished a handgun, and shot Duncan in the regions of his head.

Duncan lost control of the vehicle which crashed into a wall along the roadway.

All the other passengers, including the gunman, jumped from the vehicle and ran into various directions.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Duncan was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
