Trelawny Girl Sentenced To Life in Prison

Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: An 18-year-old girl who appeared before the Trelawny Circuit Court, on charges of murder, was sentenced to life in prison, and parole after 15-years.

The accused, Fiona Headley of Jackson Town, in Trelawny, was convicted for the 2018 murder of Cardia Banton, a 22-year-old businesswoman of the same address.

Reports reaching the court are that on September 12, 2018, Headley reportedly went to a shop being operated by Banton, in Jackson Town, and accused her of having an affair with her boyfriend.

At that time the teenage girl was just 17-year-old and she pulled a knife and stabbed Banton to her upper body.

The wounded woman was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
