Western Primary Schools” Invitational Track Meet

Today community Eyes takes a closer look at the Western Primary Schools” Invitational Track Meet, which debut ten (10) years previously, initiated by Mr. Albert Ferguson, who was also honored at today’s event.
The event hosted primary schools from across Western Region held at the Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay, to the fanfare of track and field lovers, though not filled to capacity, amidst heavy down pour of rain fans were nevertheless, shouting, blowing whistles, blaring horns, feet stomping, cheering for their teams.

Last month Mckoys news spotlighted Catherine Hall Primary School, Relay Teams as being outstanding, their, performance on track today lend credit to same.
Though they won no Gold Medals, the teams medaled in the races that were significant, racking up approximately ten (10) medals in Silver and Bronze,  one (1)  Bronze Medal in Long Jump, Coach Cunningham expressed his overall pleasure at the teams” performances, but , particularly more pleased with the performances of:

D”Jonea Chambers,  obtaining  Four (4) Medals at today’s event, she will be attending Mt. Alvernia High School comes September.

Aiden Samuels, who will be attending Irwin High School (4) medals at today’s event. Cunningham thank them, wished them farewell and continued success on their new journeys, while he focuses on strengthening the remaining and rebuilding of new teams. C.H.P.S was placed fifth (5th) on the overall score chart.

“Lightning does strike the same place twice” as was the case for Black River Primary School, from St Elizabeth…they came, they saw, they ran, they defended, they conquered and was awarded 2018, Championship Trophy and title the second consecutive year.
The tracks were theirs to dominate and they did, racking up Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, with 345 points.
*Corinaldi Primary School, Second (2nd) placed.
*Howard Cooke Primary School Third (3rd) placed.
(NB, this reporter was unable to get comments from either schools/coaches, due to spectators rush on the field)

Meanwhile, not be left out,
Rohampton Primary School, celebrated as the overall Championship and Class Five (5) Trophies and title  were  awarded to Champion Girl, Kemeish Brown, who will be attending, St Elizabeth High School (STETHS) in September, Brown ,along with coach Gary Daley , were elated at  (3rd) time retaining the top prizes.
