Mountain View Student Brianna Bonner Missing

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Brianna Bonner Missing – Sixteen-year-old, Brianna Bonner of Mountain View Avenue in Kingston 3, has been reported missing since Friday, July 13th.

Brianna is of brown complexion, medium built and approximately 5ft 5ins tall.

She was last seen on Friday morning at her home, dressed in a pink blouse and black tights.

Anyone knowing Brianna’s whereabouts is being asked to contact the Vineyard police at 876 922-3184.

Zones of Special Operations in Mt. Salem, St James and Denham Town, Kingston Extended

Jamaica Crime News: The Lower House has granted an extension of the Zones of Special Operations in Mount Salem, St James and Denham Town, Kingston.

The anti-crime measure was due to expire on August 16 in Mount Salem and September 4 in Denham Town.

However, the house decided to take the motion for an extension Tuesday as Parliament took recess for the traditional two-week break.

PM Holness Signs CARICOM Agreements

In agreeing to the extension, the opposition spokesperson for National Security, Fitz Jackson, warned the government that this better be the last time they request for such move.

He said drastic crime-fighting tools such as these must not be normalized and urged the government to implement long-term measures such as rolling out more CCTVs across Montego Bay, St James.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness in defending his administration’s use of the crime measure said, the security forces had dismantled gangs, disarmed the triggermen and had significantly halted murders in both communities.

Southern Sparks and Western Heat to Contest Final of Sandals Under-19 Competition

Jamaica Sports News: Southern Sparks are through to the final of the Sandals Under-19 Cricket Competition, after registering a 4 wicket win over eastern flames, at the Melbourne cricket club.

Eastern Flames won the toss and decided to bat and was restricted to 190 for seven in their 50 overs. Sanjay Walker top scored with 51, Adrian Weir got 30 and Norris Tenn 29.

The top wicket takers were Andre Blake and Rushane Allen who bagged two wickets each.

In reply the Sparks easily raced to 191 for 6, in 35 overs and two balls. The victory was highlighted by Ricardo McIntosh, who was well on his way to the second century of the competition, when he was clean bowled by Delano Collins.

Melbourne Cricket Club Presented with Bowling Machine

McIntosh got good support from Zavier Burton 26 and Javardi Francis 23.  The main wicket taker was Jordan Johnson, who finished with two for 50 in 10 overs.

Barry Barnes, coach of the Southern Sparks was pleased with the win and said that he was looking forward to getting the better of the Western Heat, in next week’s final.

The final is scheduled for Jarrett Park in Montego Bay next Saturday starting at 10:00 am.

Man Murdered in St Andrew 

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: The Hunts Bay Police in St Andrew are now carrying out investigations surrounding the shooting death of a man in the area on Wednesday morning.

The dead man has been identified as, Andre Gayle, otherwise called  “Chris Gayle or Gaza Manage” 35-year-old laborer of Mckoy Lane in Kingston 11.

St Andrew Police Seeks Help to Identify Murdered Victim        

Reports by the St Andrew South police are that about  1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Gayle was at home in bed when armed men kicked open the door to his house and entered the building.

The gunmen opened fire hitting Gayle to his upper body before leaving the scene.  The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Man Shot and Killed at Football Match in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A man was shot and killed by a lone gunman while watching a game of football at the Coolwater playing field in Spring Mount, St James, on Wednesday afternoon of July 11th.

The deceased has been identified as, Demar Edwards, otherwise called ” Tim “28-year-old labourer also of Coolwater district in the Spring Mount policing area.

Reports by the Spring Mount police are that about 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, Edwards was among a group of persons watching a game of football at a playing field in Coolwater district.

Two Men Fatally Shot by Police in Irwin, St James

Minutes later, he was approached by a man who brandished a handgun and shot him multiple times to his upper body.  The gunman then escaped in the area on foot.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

St James: Barrett Town Man Chopped to Death, One Man Arrested and Another on the Run

Jamaica Crime News, St James: One man is now in police custody and another on the run after they reportedly chopped another man to death in Long Bay in St James on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Boris Edwards, 44-year-old laborer of Barrett Town address also in St James.

In the meanwhile, the police say they are unable to release the name of the accused who has been taken into custody and the other man who is still on the run at this time.

Man Shot and Killed at Football Match in St James         

Reports by the Barrett Town Police are that about 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, the two accused and Edwards got involved in a dispute at a location in Long Bay.

During the altercation, both men armed themselves with machetes and chased Edwards along the roadway. They caught up with him a distance away and chop him to death.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, Edwards was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police Appeal to Public for Assistance in Case of Businessman Shot and Killed in Clarendon

The Barrett Town Police carried out an investigation which led to the arrest of one of the accused.  The other man is presently being sought.

Construction Worker Murdered in Kingston  

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The police in the parish of St Andrew are now carrying out a probe surrounding the shooting death of a man in the parish on Wednesday morning of July 11th.

Dead is, Marlon Stewart, otherwise called “Brim Brim” 36-year-old Construction worker of Brook Valley in Kingston 20.

8-year-old Feared to have been Kidnapped in St Mary   

Reports by the police are that shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, residents living in Brook Valley raised an alarm after hearing loud explosions coming from a section of the community.

The lawmen traveled to the area and upon arrival, they discovered Stewart lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two Police Officers and Pedestrian Injured in St Catherine Crash

Jamaica News, St Catherine: Two police officers and a male pedestrian were admitted to hospital and treated for injuring which they sustained in a motor vehicle accident which occurred along a section of the Barton main road in St Catherine on Wednesday night.

Reports by the Old Harbor Police are that shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, both officers were travelling in a police service vehicle along the Barton main road towards Old Harbour.

Motorcycle Taxi Operator Killed in Freak Accident

On reaching a section of the roadway, the male pedestrian stepped out in the path of the patrol vehicle.  The police vehicle swerved to avoid full contact of the pedestrian and collided into a White Suzuki motor car.

Both officers and the pedestrian received injuries and were rushed to hospital where they were treated and admitted.

Man Shot and Injured by other Man who Stole Licensed Firearm 

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston:  A man who shot and injured another man after stealing a licensed firearm in Rockfort on Wednesday afternoon, was later taken into custody and the weapon retrieved from him.  Also, the victim who was shot by the accused is presently in serious condition at hospital.

Reports by the Rockfort police are that shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, both men were among a group of men at a compound along Sea Breeze Avenue in Rockfort when an argument developed between them.

Man Suspected To Have Committed Suicide In Kingston

The accused reportedly started to behave in a boisterous manner and was thrown from the compound by the other men.  The accused left the area and went home where he stole the key to the gun safe of an occupant of his household.

He then opened the safe and stole homeowner’s licensed firearm and went back to the location.  The accused then pointed the firearm in the direction of the man with whom he had the argument earlier and fired several shots at him, hitting him to his upper body.

He then ran from the compound and fled the scene. The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.

Following an investigation, the accused was apprehended at a section of Vineyard Town and the weapon a  Glock pistol loaded with several live rounds taken from him.

Two Westmoreland Gunmen Being Sought For Murder and Shooting 

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Negril Police in the parish of Westmoreland say they are now combing sections of the parish in search of two men, who they say are behind the shooting death of another man, as well as, the shooting and wounding of another in the parish on Sunday night of July 8th.

Investigators further stated that the gunmen are both believed to be from the Negril areas and are known violent producers.

These men are now being sought in connection with the murder of  Donhugh Whittle,  otherwise called “Bimma” 22-year-old unemployed of Negril in Westmoreland.

Main Suspect in Murder of Elderly Couple in Portland Remanded In Custody on Fraud Charges

The other victim who was also shot and injured during the attack is presently still at hospital in serious but stable condition.

Reports by the Negril police are that about 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Whittle and the other man were walking along Bonito Crescent in Negril when a grey Toyota Axio motor car drove up to them.

The vehicle stopped and two men armed with handguns jumped out and opened fire hitting both men to their upper bodies.

The gunmen made there escape in the waiting motor car while the police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded men were transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where Whittle was pronounced dead and the other man admitted.
