Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Suspected Arson in Westmoreland: The Westmoreland police and investigators attached to the Westmoreland Fire Department are now carrying out an investigation to determine the origin of a fire which totally destroyed a board house in the parish on Thursday morning of August 3rd, 2017.
In the meanwhile, Kenneth Richards, 55-yr-old laborer of Cornwall Mountain, and owner of the burnt out dwelling have indicated to the police that he believes that his home was set on fire by arsonists.
Reports by the police are that about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday Richards left his home to visit a friend. Around 7:00 a.m. that morning he got information that his house was on fire and immediately rushed back home.
On reaching the location he saw his board house and all its contents completely destroyed. The police and the Fire Department were alerted but on arrival, the dwelling was completely destroyed. The firemen only managed to carry out a cooling down operation.
