Suspect Being Sought in Connection with Murder of Hanover Fisherman
Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Detectives attached to the Lucea and Green Island CIB Departments say they are now in search of a man who they believe can assist them in their investigations surrounding the shooting death of a fisherman in the area on Thursday night of June 14th.
The police also stated that the man being sought also hails from the area, but his name cannot be mentioned at this time, and he is being sought in connection with the murder of Ingram Smith, otherwise called “Moon Man” 50-year-old fisherman of 19 Acres in Wharf Road also in Orange Bay, Green Island.
Reports by the police are that, about 7:50 p.m. on Thursday night, Smith and his son were travelling on a motorcycle from the directions of Logwood towards Wharf Road in Green Island.
On reaching a section of the roadway, men on board a silver grey motor car opened fire hitting Smith who was the pillion on the motorcycle. The gunmen then sped away while the wounded fisherman was rushed to the Noel Holmes hospital in Lucea where he was pronounced dead.
