Suspect Being Sought by Hunt’s Bay Police, after slitting Man’s Throat with Machete

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Hunts Bay Police in Kingston say they are now in search of a man, who reportedly used a machete to slit the throat of another man in Kingston 11, on Saturday, October 6.

The deceased has been identified as Teddy Newell,  61-year-old Construction worker of Chisholm Avenue, also in Kingston 11.

The name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Hunts Bay Police are that about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, Newell and the other man got involved in a domestic dispute at their home in Chisolm Avenue, when accused got in a rage and rushed for a machete.

He then grabbed hold of Newell and use the machete to slit his throat, before leaving the scene.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accused is still presently been sought.
