Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Substance Abuser Awaits Rehabilitation: Julio Mullings will have to remain in custody a little longer while the Court awaits a response from Teen Challenge in relation to his rehabilitation.
An application was made for the accused man to be placed on the programme to assist in combating his drug and alcohol abuse problem.
During Friday’s sitting in the St. James Parish Court, the clerk-of-court indicated to the court that the information was sent to Teen Challenge but they had not yet received a response.
Having listened to the clerk, the judge deferred the matter to August 2 and remanded Mullings to police custody.
Mullings is alleged to have gone to a prominent Montego Bay Supermarket and stole a bottle of Vodka.
It is alleged that on June 15, 2017, about 5:05 pm, an employee at the supermarket was shown a security footage where the accused man was seen putting a bottle of liquor in the front of his pants.
Thereafter, Mullings went back to the store and the same worker recognized him from the footage. As a result, Mullings was placed under observation and soon after he was seen placing a bottle of Vodka in the front of his pants.
He was stopped as he tried to exit the building. The police were summoned and he was later arrested and charged.
