Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Street Men Meeting Put off until Heroes Day: The Street Men Association met a few months ago in Sam Sharpe Square and discussed matters that are affecting them and how the people in higher society have neglected them and abused them.
One of the members of the group, who wish to remain anonymous, said that he has “gone down death row” with the citizens of Montego Bay on more than one occasion and still survive. He said he was torched a few months ago, which saw him and his clothing being set on fire. He went on to say that he was also chopped on several occasions, and stones thrown at him.
The men are appealing for help as they would like to live a better life. One of the men had this to say, “we just find ourselves in this unfortunate condition and need the help to get out, we need somewhere to stay and be cared for, help us please!”
Head of the Street Men Association Allay Brown, told this reporter that the meeting that was scheduled to be held this Monday, September 4, 2017 has been put forward to National Heroes Day.
