Jamaica News: Swift action by the Clarendon police resulted in the recovery of nearly 30 goats in the parish Sunday.

The discovery was made by a team of officers on operation in Hayes, Clarendon.

A white hatchback was signaled to stop and when it did the driver fled. A subsequent search by officers revealed the motor vehicle had been crammed with 28 stolen animals.

Police are still on the search for the driver.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

In the meantime, persons who have had their goats stolen are being asked to contact the May Pen Police at 986-2208.

The development comes just days after a couple was shot by goat thieves in the Vere plain area of Clarendon. They were shot after they attempted to raise an alarm while the men were attempting to remove the goats from their yard.
