St Thomas Man Arrested for Murder of 21-Year-Old Woman, Wanted as Suspect in Hanover Murder

Latest Jamaica News, Hanover: The Port Morant police in the parish of St Thomas, have confirmed that the main suspected in the death of 21-year-old Abina Bertram, who was found murdered at a section of the parish last Friday, July 19, is also a prime suspect in another murder incident committed in the parish of Hanover.

One Investigator told our news team that evidence found at the suspect’s home, gave the police reason to believe that he is tied to both killings.

Bertram who hails from Industry Hill in Leith Hall, St Thomas, went missing about 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, after she left her home to attend a church at a section of the parish.

After days of searching for the missing young woman, relatives and community members stumbled upon her body at a section of the parish known as Nuttsriver district.

She was partially nude and lying face down in a river, with her hands bound.

Following the gruesome find, residents told Investigators that Bertram was last seen in the company of the suspect nearing the same community.
