St Thomas Fugitive Charged with Two Counts of Murder, and Illegal Possession of Firearm

Latest Jamaica News, St Thomas (McKoy’s News): St Thomas Fugitive Charged  – A St Thomas man who was being sought by the police in connection with several murder cases and breaches of the firearms act, was apprehended by the police on Wednesday, February 5, and has now been officially charged.

Facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and two counts of murder is Garfield Gregory, a laborer of Llandewey, also in St Thomas.

Reports by the police are that Gregory went on the run from December 19, of last year in connection with a motor vehicle accident which resulted in the death of two men.

The accused man was brought before the St Thomas Parish Court, where he was remanded into custody.

Reports are that the two deceased 43-year-old Marlon Simms, and a man identified only as “Piper” of 11 Miles Bull Bay, were travelling with a female along the Easington main road, when they were involved in a crash with another vehicle in which Gregory was travelling.

Following the collision, an argument developed between Gregory and both deceased, which resulted in the men being ambushed and shot to death.

Gregory went on the run immediately after the incident and was being sought by the police ever since.
