St Mary Police Seeking Help to Identify Two Gunmen Fatally Shot in the Parish on Friday             

Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: The Islington Police in the parish of St Mary say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to identify two men who were fatally shot after they challenged members of a police party in a shootout, in the parish on Friday, May 4, 2018.

The lawmen say,  a. 357 Magnum and another pistol which make is not known along with (12) .45rounds were taken from the men.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Friday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols along Sports Road, when they intercepted a motor vehicle with several men on board.

The driver of the vehicle was signaled to stop, but immediately the men traveling on board opened fire at the police.

The fire was returned and on reaching a section of the roadway, the vehicle stopped and the men were seen running in bushes.

During a search of the area, one man was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds while clutching the . 357 magnum.  Also, the vehicle in which the gunmen were traveling, a Nissan Bluebird motor car registered 4255 HT, which was later said to be rented to a man from a Smith Lane address in Kingston was also seized at the scene.

The lawmen stated that a search for the men continued into Saturday morning, May 5, which led to the discovery of the other gunman.

He was discovered with gunshot wounds in an open field and the unmarked handgun was seen a few meters away from the body.
