Jamaica News, St Mary: The Annotto Bay Police in the parish of St Mary, have now commenced an investigation into the death of a farmer, who is believed to have died in a fire which destroyed his home in Brandgate, St. Mary, on Sunday, January 27.

The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Dudley Wyndham,  farmer of Chovey district in Brandgate, St Mary.

Reports by the police are that about 7:30 a.m., residents in the area raised an alarm after fire was seen coming from a section of Wyndham’s board dwelling house.

The police and Fire Department were summoned and upon arrival of the firemen, they could only manage to carry out cooling down operations because the house was already engulfed into flames.

After the fire died down, Wyndham’s burnt remains were discovered underneath the rubbles.

The police say they have now ruled out foul play, as a motive for the fire.
