Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: One man was arrested and charged, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm in Annotto Bay, St Mary on Saturday morning of July 28.
The accused has been identified as, Ferrol McCalla, 41-year-old laborer of Dover District also in Annotto Bay.
McCalla has since been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Reports by the Area 2 Narcotics Police are that about 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, a team of officers carried out an operation at the home of the accused.
On entering the house, the lawmen stated that the illegal weapon, an HS 2000, 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with fifteen live 9mm rounds.
The accused was arrested and charged and will appear in the Port Maria Parish Court on Thursday, August 2.
