St James Woman Arrested for Lottery Scamming

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A 25-year-old woman was arrested and charged by members of the Lottery Scam Task Force in Montego Bay, St James, on Wednesday afternoon, October 31, for her alleged involvement in the lottery scam.

The accused has been identified as Janice Brown of Leaders Avenue in Montego Bay and she has been charged with Possession of Identity information and possession of an access device.

Reports by the Freeport Police are that about 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a team of officers attached to the Anti-Lottery Scam Task Force carried out an operation at a premises occupied by the accused.

During the operation, her house was searched and a laptop and note books, containing identity information of persons residing overseas were found.

Brown was arrested and subsequently charged.

She is booked to appear in Court at a later date.
