St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – St James Wanted Man Surrenders: Jamaica’s State of Emergency for the parish of St James will continue until May 2, giving the police and soldier the necessary time to eradicate the killers and gangs from Jamaica’s second city and tourist hub. As the security forces step up their operations, a St James Wanted Man yesterday surrenders to police.
Kirk Stephens, otherwise called ‘Wanka’, a 27-year-old of the Flankers area, in St James, is reported to have turned himself in at an area-one police station on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
St James Wanted Man Surrenders: Police report that Stephens was arrested pending charges of two counts of murder and one count of wounding with intent, after turning himself in, accompanied by his attorney-at-law at approximately 6:30 am on Saturday.
The Ministry of Justice is imploring persons listed on the Most Wanted List to turn themselves in, as they will not be dehumanized in treatment. The Ministry has stated that relatives and friends should report their whereabouts to the nearest police station, call Crime Stop at 311, 811, or contact the Crime Stop Facebook page. Persons can also use the “Stay Alert” app to contact the security forces.
Information can be collected anonymously.
Wanted persons may turn themselves in at any police station – the police will welcome the company of a Justice of the Peace, Minister of Religion or Attorney, along with the wanted persons.
