St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – St James Residents Feel Much Safer: Several residents in St James have told the Minister of National Security, Hon Robert ‘Bobby’ Montaque that they are much safer now that the parish has been placed under a State of Emergency.

The residents expressed their gratitude after they were greeted by the Security Minister on Sunday, February 4, 2018, during his tour of several communities under the State of Emergency. The minister along with Senator Pearnel Charles, Jr, and other military personnel toured communities such as Flankers and Norwood.

After making several stops at various houses and shops in the communities, the residents told the Minister that they are grateful for the State of Emergency and can now walk much more freely in their communities.

Several of the residents also stated that they can now go to church and children can walk sections of their communities much more freely.  The residents also pointed out that since the State of Emergency, crime and murders in their communities have ceased and they all wish the State of Emergency could continue for a longer while.
