Jamaica Crime News, St James: The police in St James have reported that since the start of the year, the month of June has accounted for the most murders being committed. So far, a total of ten persons have been reported murdered in St James over the past twenty days.
One St James crime investigator told our news team that, so far the Granville policing area has accounted for the highest percentage of murders since the start of the year and the joint military teams have now turned most of their focus on those communities.
The year 2017 ended with a total of 337 murders being committed across the parish of St James, which was the highest in its history to date. So far the parish has recorded a total of fifty murders.
The St James police have now stepped up major operations right across the parish and have also stepped up on foot patrols and mobile patrols within the communities, in a bid to control crime.
