Jamaica Crime News, St James: The Freeport police in Montego Bay, St James, say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance in their investigations, into the death of a security guard who was shot and killed while on duty at the compound of the Sam Sharpe Teachers College in Granville on Sunday morning of June 10th.
The police say they have now come to a standstill point in their investigations and are now asking members of the public with any information that could assist to immediately contact the Montego Bay CIB Department at 876 953-6191, police 119, Crime Stop or Operation King Fish.
They are urging all persons to assist in this puzzling murder of Anthony Phillips, 35-year-old security guard of a Darliston address in Westmoreland and who is employed to King’s Alarm Security Company.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Phillips was on guard duty at the Sam Sharpe Teacher’s College compound in Granville where he was based.
While on duty, he was attacked and shot to death by unknown assailants. The police were summoned and upon arrival, the security guard was discovered lying on the outside of the compound with multiple gunshot wounds.
The scene was processed and the victim transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
