ST JAMES MAN FACING MULTIPLE GUN CHARGES REMANDED INTO CUSTODY

23-year-old Sushaine Kerr, who appeared in the Western Regional Gun Court to answer to multiple gun charges, on  Wednesday, February 27, was again remanded into custody until March 29.

Kerr otherwise called ” Dukie” of Copperwood, in St James is facing the court on two counts of shooting, three counts of Illegal possession of a firearm and three counts of wounding.

The police have reported that Kerr was being sought for shooting at the police, and a number of other gun-related incidents ranging from wounding with intent, to shooting with intent.

According to the police during the recent state of emergency, they responded to numerous incidents in the Copperwood, Montpelier and Bickersteith involving the accused man.

Kerr managed to elude the security forces on several occasions until he was held in Montpellier, St James. on January 19, by Detectives attached to the Area One, Zone Four Division.”

During his appearance in court on Wednesday, Kerr’s lawyer attorney Murel Beckford made a bail application, but he was turned down on all three charges.

The judge ruled Kerr as a risk if he was given bail, and ordered that he be remanded into custody until the last week of March.
