St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – St James Funeral Shooting: Despite the State of Emergency imposed on the parish of St James, the brazen gunmen again struck on Saturday evening, this time shooting up a funeral service at Quarry in Salt Spring and killing one man and injuring five others which includes a pregnant female.
The dead man has been identified as 27-year-old Daniel Michael Bernard of Quarry, St James.
Meanwhile, the injured victims have since been admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in critical condition.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00 p.m., a funeral service was being held at a church in the community of Quarry for a community man who was recently shot and killed.

While the funeral was in full swing, gunmen on foot walked to the church and ambushed the mourners shooting up the entire funeral proceedings. During the shooting, Bernard along with the pregnant mother and four other men were shot and injured.

Community members and mourners lashed out at the security saying that they should have been providing more security for the funeral based on the nature of the event.
The shooting took place just a few feet from where joint military was holding a series of operations.
