Jamaica Crime News, St James: Bishop Conrad Pitkin, the custos rotulorum of St. James, is calling for measures to be put in place to effectively fight crime, which he says has now become a major concern.

The Custos who was speaking at the 38th staging of the Montpelier Agricultural Show, which was held at the Montpelier showground in Montpelier, St James, says measures must now be put in place to curve the intense rise in crime through the parish.

Pitkin also condemned Sunday’s shooting of a police Constable in Norwood community, of Montego Bay. He stated that he is now rather concerned as to 48 persons being killed since the start of the year, comparing to 29 murders at this same period last year.
