St James Couple Charged with Murder

Jamaica Crime News, St James: The St James police say they have now charged a couple, with the murder of their neighbor, who they allegedly chopped to death, in Hendon Norwood community, on Saturday morning, June 1.

They have been identified as 42-year-old Ian White, a baker and his wife 27-year-old Chevelle Grey-White, a cosmetologist and both of Hendon, Norwood. They have been charged with the murder of 35-year-old Jermaine Oliver Street, unemployed of the said address.

Reports by the Freeport police are that about 10:15 a.m. on June 1, Street who is said to suffer from a mental disorder, reportedly damaged sections of the couple’s home.

It is alleged that the couple and another neighbor, armed themselves with machetes and went next door to Street’s home, where they chopped him to death.

The couple then fled the community.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Street was discovered lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The couple then turned themselves over to the police and following a series of investigations, they were charged on Wednesday.

They are booked to appear in the St James Parish Court next week.
