Another St James Chef Shot Dead Despite Active State of Emergency

St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News)St James Chef Shot Dead: Despite the State of Emergency being imposed on the parish of St James, gunmen struck again in the parish on Friday night, this time shooting a man to death at a shop and bar in Tucker, Irwin community of St James.

The deceased has been identified as Navado Jackson 33-year-old Chef also of a Tucker, Irwin Address.

Reports by the police are that shortly after10:00 pm on Friday, January 26, Jackson was among a group of patrons at the Shop and bar along the Tucker Irwin main road when two men walked up to the establishment and engaged him in a conversation.

The men then brandished handguns and open fire on the deceased.

Jackson ran to avoid being killed but he was chased to the outside of the bar and shot several times to sections of his face and he fell to the ground in a pool of blood.

The gunmen then escaped in the area on foot while residents alerted the police.

Upon arrival by the Granville police, the victim was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

The scene was processed and Jackson was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police say they have not yet established a motive for this latest shooting. A total of 12 persons have been murdered in the parish since the start of the year.
