Jamaica Crime News, St James: Mckoy’s News has been reliably informed that Junior Wint, the 47-year-old businessman who committed suicide by shooting himself, minutes after shooting his common-law wife to death in Flamstead Gardens, on Friday afternoon, February 15, was being faced with financial stress.
Mckoy’s News also learnt that Wint recently broke up with his wife, and since then he has been plague with monetary problems.
Wint who hailed from Lilliput in St James, recently moved to Flamstead Gardens in Spring Mount area, where he resided with 24-year-old Wendy Scarlett, the woman whom he shot and killed before taking his own life.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 3:30 p.m., on Friday, Wint and Scarlett who got involved in a heated argument, because the deceased woman wanted to attend a funeral.
During the confrontation, Wint reportedly told Scarlett that he was not going to allow her to go to the funeral, so he chased her to a section of the Flamstead Gardens main road.
After catching up with her, Wint pulled his licensed firearm and shot Scarlett to the regions of her head. He then then turned the weapon on himself, placed it inside his mouth, and took his own life.
The Spring Mount police were summoned and upon their arrival, the scene was processed, and both victims transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
