St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Despite claims by the St James police Hiracy that murders have dropped in the parish, the significant figure of 81 persons murdered since the start of 2017 shows otherwise.

Since the start of 2017,  81 persons have been murdered – this figure is over a dozen more murders than the amount of persons killed at this same time in the previous year.

According to the police Constabulary Communication, their stats shows that western Jamaica alone have accounted for more than 50% of the amount of persons murdered in Jamaica since the start of the year, and not surprisingly St James have accounted for more than a half of the amount of persons killed in western Jamaica.

Records also shows that St James Area One Police Department have accounted for the most double murders and teenage shootings since the start of 2017.

The police have since stepped up security in the inner city communities and deployed more foot patrol teams. Persons have now seen a significant rise in military presence on a daily basis but still the murders continues to roll over rapidly.
