St. Elizabeth, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — The police report that a St Elizabeth wanted man was killed on Thursday morning during a gunfire confrontation with the police in Black River, St Elizabeth. An illegal 38 mm Taurus revolver gun recovered at the scene.
Dead is 23-year-old Mark Findley otherwise called ‘Bye Bye’ of Rocky Hill district, St Elizabeth.
The police report that Findley is was wanted for several crimes.
Reports are that Findley was fatally shot on Crane Road in Black River after gunmen opened fire on police involved in a special operation at the location.
Police say, acting on information, they went to Crane Road about 11:25 am and were forced to take evasive action when a gunman opened fire on them.
Police reportedly returned fire, and Findley was discovered injured after the shooting stopped.
He was found clutching a .38 mm Taurus revolver.
Findley was taken to hospital were he was pronounced dead.
The Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are investigating.
