Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: The St Elizabeth police have reported that, the two men who were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of 2,313 pounds of ganja in Black River, St Elizabeth, last Wednesday, November 14, are booked to appear in the St Elizabeth parish Court this Thursday, November 22.
The accused men have been identified as 43-year-old Winston Clarke of Kilmarnock district and 42-year-old Grayson Forbes, a welder of New Market district, both in St Elizabeth.
They are facing charges of Possession of ganja, Dealing in ganja, taking steps to preparatory to export ganja, use of Conveyance and Conspiracy.
Reports by the police are that about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, a team of Narcotics Police carried out an operation at a section of Black River, known as High Street when they intercepted two motor vehicles, which were being driven by Clarke and Forbes.
A search of both vehicles led to the seizure of compressed ganja weighing approximately 2,313 pounds.
Both men were arrested and later questioned in the presence of their lawyers, after which they were charged.
The drug is estimated at a street value of over Jamaican $9-million.
