Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: A St. Elizabeth man who managed to escape the clutches of the police in presently on the run, after performing gun salute at a dance on Wednesday morning, December 26.

The police have given the name of the fugitive so far only as Demar Bryan, of a Rose Valley district address, also in St Elizabeth.

Reports by the police are that about 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Bryan was at a dance being held in Rose Valley, when he reportedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and discharged one round in the air.

The police were alerted and upon arrival, Bryan was pointed out as the person who fired the shot.

He was accosted by the police and searched, and found in possession of a Beretta 9-mm semi-automatic pistol, fitted with a magazine containing four live rounds.

While being questioned, Bryan wrenched himself free from the grasp of the lawmen and fled the scene.

He is presently being sought by the police.
