ST ELIZABETH MAN HELD IN CONNECTION WITH MURDER OF 80-YEAR-OLD, FARMER

Detectives attached to the Black River CIB Department, say they have now taken one suspect into custody in connection with the murder of an 80-year-old, farmer, in the are on Monday, January 7th.
Dead is Egeton Young,  80-year-old, a farmer of Merrywood district, also in St Elizabeth.
The name of the accused is been withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the police are that about 3:00 pm, on Monday,  a relative of the elderly farmer went to visit him, and discovered him lying in a pool of blood.
The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, it was discovered that a section of Young’s head was bashed in.
The scene was processed, and the body later transported to the hospital where it was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation carried out by the police, residents related that the accused was the person allegedly seen in the area at the time of the murder, and he was taken into custody.
