St Elizabeth, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) –Two of Four St Elizabeth Gunmen Killed: two of four gunmen who reportedly challenged the New Market, St Elizabeth police in a shoot-out on Tuesday morning, were fatally shot by the lawmen on Tuesday, May 16, 2017
The gunmen were still unidentified up to news time.
Reports by the St Elizabeth police are that at about 3:45 am on Tuesday, a team of officers attached to the New Market Police station was carrying out vehicular spot checks in the area, when they saw a white Mark X motor car, registered 6833 HJ with four men on board, and signaled them to stop.
The vehicle then came to a halt, immediately after, all four men alighted and opened fire on the officers. The officers returned fire.
During the shooting, two of the gunmen were shot. The other two gunmen made their escape in nearby bushes.
After the shooting subsided, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a STL.40 semi-automatic pistol, serial numbers 19850 loaded with 13 live .40 cartridges.
Two of Four St Elizabeth Gunmen Killed: the wounded gunmen were transported to the Black River Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
In the meantime, the Black River police responded that they believe the men are behind a number of armed robberies and shootings which have been taking place in and around the Black River area.
