Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: Fifty-two-year-old Lester Green, the St Elizabeth farmer who was charged in connection with the seizure of 600 pounds of ganja, in St Elizabeth, on Tuesday, May 7, is booked to appear in court on Thursday, May, 16.

Green was charged on the weekend with Trafficking ganja, Possession of ganja, Dealing in ganja, Taking steps to export ganja and Conspiracy to export ganja.

Reports by the Black River police are that about 4:30 p.m. on May 7, a team of officers were conducting a spot check in Beacon district when they saw Green traveling in a Toyota Altis motor car.

Green was ordered to stop and he complied. During a search of the vehicle, the lawmen seized 600 pounds of compressed ganja, with an estimated street value of Jamaican $2.4 million.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
