St Catherine, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – According to police report, a St Catherine primary school teacher is now behind bars, charged with engaging in sexual acts with one of his young student. Mckoy’s News team understands that the male teacher was slapped with a slew of charges after his arrest on January 12, following detective investigations.
Authorities state that students attending the primary school in the parish of St Catherine that is at the heart of this alleged abuse, are no older than 13-year-old.
St Catherine police report that the teacher was arrested on January 12, 2018, after investigations by detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).
He is reportedly charged with sex crimes including grievous sexual assault, having sex with a person under the age of 16 years, and indecent assault.
The St Catherine primary school teacher is accused of engaging a female student he taught (under the age of 13) in sexual activities with him on several occasions.
He will begin answering the charges in the St Catherine Parish Court on today, Friday, January 19.
On Wednesday. another teacher in the parish of St Thomas was arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with a person under the age 16 years.
He is booked to appear in the St Thomas Parish Court on January 24.
