St Catherine: Man Arrested on Construction Site after Seizure of Illegal Firearm

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: One man who is said to be a laborer was taken into custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm in Portmore, St Catherine on Friday afternoon, May 24.

The police say they are unable to release the name of the man taken into custody at this time.

The police have reported that shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, a team of officers carried out an operation on a construction site at a section of Portmore known as Gore Tuca.

During the operation, they carried out a search of a drawstring bag which is said to be owned by the laborer.  The police discovered a  .38 Special Revolver loaded with four live. 38 rounds.

The illegal weapon was seized and the accused man taken into custody.
