Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: A man who reportedly attacked another man with a loaded gun in Willowdene district, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on Sunday, April 7, was disarmed by his victim, and he along with the illegal weapon was handed over to the police.

The police say they are not able to release the name of the accused, at this early time.

Reports by the Spanish Town Police are that about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, both men got involved in a heated argument when the accused pulled an illegal firearm.

The victim held on to his attacker and managed to disarm him. The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the weapon, a Beretta 9mm pistol, fitted with a magazine containing seven live 9mm rounds, was taken from him.

The accused was also handed over to the police, and he is presently waiting to be charged.
