St Catherine Business Woman Granted Bail On Ganja Charges

Jamaica News: A St Catherine business woman who appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court last weekend on ganja charges was granted bail in the sum of $150, 000.

The accused woman, 45 year old, Viven Boland of Sligoville, who denied the charges, was ordered to return to court on September 4th. Reports by the police are that on Friday June 8th, a team of officers carried out an operation at a premises which is occupied by the accused as a living area and business establishment.

A search was carried out of the premises and the police reported that they seized ganja weighing 400 pounds. Boland was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Possession of and Dealing in Ganja.

The accused informed the court that she has no knowledge of ganja being on her premises and that the alleged drug seizure was never made in her presence.
