St. Ann, Jamaica ( Mckoy’s News) – St Ann Underground Prostitution Ring: The Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime (C-TOC) confirmed that members of the branch have uncovered a major prostitution ring in Runaway Bay, St Ann.
The C-TOC disclosed that they discovered an underground operation in which a group of residents in the Salem area of Runaway Bay of St. Ann, used their homes as make shift motels and rented them to prostitutes. Some of these prostitutes were known to be children as young as age 14 and 15. These girls were made to perform sexual favors to customers visiting the home motels.
Police say this scheme in the parish of St. Ann was uncovered during a series of operation to target persons involved in the human trafficking.
The bust of the prostitution ring according to police took place between Friday night and early Saturday December 9, when a team of officers from C-TOC carried out a raid in Salem, St Ann.
Three female homeowners involved in the prostitution ring were arrested.
St Ann Underground Prostitution Ring: These homeowners would either rent out rooms in their homes or had make shift shacks built in their yards to accommodate customers for a fee of J$300.00 per 15 minutes to engage with their prostitutes.
The C-TOC reportedly state that they found that this underground operation is a multimillion dollar scheme that sometimes target children and is also used to fund the operation of criminal gangs.
The Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force say that they may be additional persons arrested in the up coming days.
