A 33-year-old, taxi operator who hails from Exchange District, in the parish of St Ann, was charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm, at his home in the parish on Saturday, September 1st.
Facing charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition is, Castle Newland, a taxi operator of Exchange district, also in St Ann.
Reports by the St Ann Bay police are that about 1:00 pm, on Saturday, a team of officers carried out an operation at the taxi operator’s home.
During a search of the premises, a homemade shotgun, loaded with one live 12 gauge cartridges were seized.
He was taken in custody and slapped with charges. He is booked to appear in Court on Tuesday, September 4th.
