St Ann Police Seeking Public Assistance to Apprehend Accused Who Slit Man Throat

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: The St Ann police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to identify a man who reportedly used a knife to slit the throat of another man in the parish on Sunday night, May 13.

The man is being sought in connection with the murder of Eldon York, 38-year-old laborer of Watt Town also in St Ann.

Reports by the police are that about 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, York was at a shop in Watt Town when the man rode up on a motorcycle. Minutes later, an argument developed between York and the accused man who pulled out a knife which he used to slit York’s throat.  The accused then ran from the shop, jumped on the motorcycle and rode away.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information that could assist the police in their investigations is being asked to contact any police station in the parish of St Ann or call Police Control at 119.

A total of 15 persons have been murdered in the parish of St Ann since the start of the year.
