St Ann Police Investigating Steer Town Murder

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: The police in the parish of St Ann, are now carrying out investigations surrounding the shooting death of a man, and the shooting and wounding of three other persons, at a shop in Steer Town area on Tuesday night, September 25.

Dead is Adrian McCarthy, 26-year-old laborer of Roaring River in Steer Town.

Reports by the St Ann Bay Police are that about 11:10 p.m., McCarthy and the three other victims were among other persons playing a game at a shop in Roaring River district when two men armed with handguns entered the shop.

The gunmen opened fire on the group of persons and then fled the scene on foot.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, McCarthy and three other men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were transported to hospital, where McCarthy was pronounced dead and the other three victims admitted in serious condition.
