Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: The St Ann police have confirmed that Orville Scarlett, otherwise called “Bull” the man who is accused of chopping his ex-girlfriend and her son to death, on Tuesday night of August, 28, was chopped to death by an angry mob on Friday, morning of August 31.
Scarlett was named as a Person of Interest by the St Ann police in connection with chopping death of his ex-girlfriend Alesha Francis, otherwise called “Alicia” 32-year-old unemployed and her 10-year-old son Teco Jackson, both of Linton Park, Watt Town in St Ann.
Reports by the Watt Town Police are that about 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Francis was accompanied by her 10 and 12-year-old sons, her 6-year-old daughter and a male friend, to a nearby shop.
While returning from the shop, they were allegedly attacked by Scarlett, who was armed with a machete.
Scarlett allegedly inflicted multiple chop wounds to Francis and both sons. Her male friend intervened, he too was chopped and his hand partially severed. The 6-year-old daughter managed to escape.
The wounded man ran and was chased by the raging attacker, but managed to elude him. The police were summoned and upon arrival, Francis and her son were both transported to hospital, where they were both pronounced dead. The 12-year-old son was treated and admitted.
Residents in the area told our news team that Francis and Scarlett were involved in a relationship some time ago.
It is further reported that some months ago, Francis stole insurance money from Scarlett and she was arrested by the police.
She was later sentenced to prison, where she spent over a year and was later released. Scarlett had sworn to get back at her since then.
