St Andrew Police Seeking Public Assistance to Apprehend Two of Four Escaped Prisoners

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: The St Andrew police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to recapture two of four prisoners who escaped custody at the Cross Roads Police station in St Andrew on Wednesday afternoon, June 20.

They have been identified as 19-year-old Eustace Powell of Lincoln Road in Kingston.  Powell was facing charges of Buggery and Rape.  The other man has been identified as 29-year-old Sanjay Burton, otherwise called “Christopher Peart” or “Michael” of Tavern Avenue in Kingston.

Reports are that shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a police assigned to the cell block at the station went to make checks on the prisoners and discovered that four of them had escaped.  An alarm was raised and following an investigation, it was discovered that the prisoners cut away a grill at the rear of one of the cells and escaped.

The lawmen acted swiftly and managed to recapture two of the fugitives.  Those captured have been identified as, 21-year-old Rohan Brown, who was facing charges of robbery. He was captured in Olympic Gardens.  23-year-old Richard Walker who is facing charges of Buggery and Rape. Walker was recaptured at Diamond Road in Kingston.
