St Andrew Police Say Six Months Old Baby who was Shot and Injured by Gunmen is Now Stable

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: The police in the parish of St Andrew have now confirmed that a six months old baby which was among three persons shot and injured by gunmen, during a drive-by shooting incident which occurred along Ramsey Road, off Maxfield Avenue in St Andrew on Tuesday morning, May 22, is now in stable condition and out of danger.

The lawmen have confirmed that the gunshot wound which the infant received has been stabilized but he is still being treated at hospital.

Also, the two other victims who were shot and injured in that said incident are also still being treated, but are in stable conditions.

The police have reported that shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, armed men travelling in a motor vehicle drove to the area and opened fire on a group of residents along Ramsey Road.

The vehicle sped away and the police were summoned. Upon the arrival of the lawmen, it was discovered that three persons including the baby were shot.

All three victims were rushed to hospital where they were treated and admitted in serious but stable condition.

We also learnt that up to date, the security forces are still maintaining a strong security presence in the community.
