Jamaica Crime News, St James: Castelle Found Guilty – Senior Superintendent of Police Anthony Castelle was today found guilty in the St James Parish Court, on charges of unlawful wounding and misconduct in a public office.
He was convicted as a result of a shooting incident which occurred on January 22, 2016, in which a pregnant woman, Janice Hines, was shot.
Reports are that, the police were carrying out regular traffic duties in Montego Bay when they signaled a taxi to stop, the driver reportedly refused to comply and sped off.
The police chased the car along the Mt Salem Main Road and fired shots at the vehicle. Hines who was seated in the back seat was shot and injured.
She was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where she was admitted.
