Spanish Town Police Launch Search for Man Who Stabbed Fruit Vendor to Death


Latest Jamaica News, St Catherine (McKoy’s News): The Spanish Town Police in St Catherine are now in search of a man who is believed to be involved in the stabbing death of a popular fruit vendor, at his home in Wellington Street, last Saturday morning, August 10.

The police say they are not yet prepared to release the identity of the suspect, who is being sought in connection with the murder of Marvin Gayle, a fruit vendor, also of Wellington Street.

Reports by the Spanish Town Police are that during the course of Friday night, the accused went to Gayle’s home, when an argument developed, and he stabbed him to death.

About 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, residents living in the community stumbled upon Gayle’s body, which was lying in his yard in a pool of blood.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the lawmen carried out investigations and found that Gayle had multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
