Jamaica News, March 3, 2018, Spanish Town Cop Booked for Man’s Killing
St Catherine, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – A Spanish Town Police Station detective constable, who was arrested last Sunday on suspicion of having committed murder, has allegedly refused to coöperate with questioning from investigators of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
Reportedly, after the refusal of a police constable to answer question in a murder investigation, INDECOM is preparing to a submit a case to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) regarding the murder of 29-year-old Rishawn Oliver of Point Hill district in St Catherine.
Oliver’s body was found along a road in Point Hill on Saturday, February 24. He had been shot several times.
The police officer was arrested hours later on Sunday, February 25, after eyewitnesses fingered him.
The motive for Oliver’s death is allegedly linked to his arrest two years ago for an allegedly sexual assault of an elderly relative of this said Spanish Town Police Station police officer. However, he was later freed of the charge for a lack of evidence.
