While many businesses are in recovery mode from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, marketing manager of Sophie Sam Fragrances and More, Adrian Lawrence-Samuda says he and his team have managed to remain consistent.
“We have done our utmost best to remain consistent on our social media platforms to ensure that our audience is always up to date,” he told McKoy’s Business News.
Sophie Sam Fragrances and More was launched in 2005 by Adrian’s father, Kerith Lawrence-Samuda. The store is based at Angels Plaza in St Catherine. Adrian’s mother, Sophia, also plays an integral role in the running of the business.
Sophie Sam specializes in quality, name brand perfumes and colognes, ranging from Issey Miyake, Bvlgari, Jimmy Choo, and Versace to Azzaro Chrome, La Femme Prada L’eau and Dolce & Gabbana K.
Lawrence-Samuda says the bond he has with customers, differentiates his business from others of its kind.
“Outside of authenticity, we educate our customers. It’s not always about what’s popular. It’s about what their preferences are, and what they may potentially like. Understanding your customer is key,” the 24-year-old said.
Though Sophie Sam is based in St. Catherine, the operators offer shipping services via Knutsford Express and Tara.
Customers will also get the opportunity to interact with the Sophie Sam owners, through an impending social media contest.
“This competition is going to allow our customers to show off their lovely (perfume/cologne) collections (on Instagram) and the photo with the most likes will win a gift from us,” Lawrence- Samuda shared.
The marketing manager remains optimistic that business will continue to thrive, regardless of the possible longevity of COVID-19.
“As long as we’re maintaining a presence on the internet, we should be good,” he said.
